Growth Rings Shortlisted for UK Social Enterprise Award
The UK Social Enterprise Awards recognise businesses that give back, enrich communities and make a contribution to society, as well as those who lead them; the social entrepreneurs who use their business acumen to make a real difference while tackling social and environmental challenges both in Britain and abroad.
The 2015 Awards took place on 26th November at a ceremony at the Underglobe on London’s South Bank. The annual celebration of British social enterprise was hosted by Scottish comedian and actress, Susan Calman, who entertained 400 guests.
The awards are sponsored by organisations such as RBS, Johnson & Johnson, Santander, Wates, PwC and the British Council, and recognise business excellence as well as contributions to society. Last year’s Social Enterprise of the Year Winner, Divine Chocolate, made it clear what winning meant to them and to their business:
“It was a fantastic accolade to win Social Enterprise of the Year 2014. Winning acknowledges the scale of the challenge to keep growing a successful social enterprise in a competitive market – it needs a lot of vision, determination and persistence! Divine is very proud to be a leading social enterprise and to be proving business can be done differently. Being able to use the winner’s logo, and to quote the award in pitches for new business has been a potent asset. The more Social Enterprise winners the better – so more people hear about them, consumers want to buy from them, companies want to work with them, and more people in future want to work for them or run them!”
At Growth Rings, we could not be prouder of our team for making the shortlist in the One to Watch category for a UK Social Enterprise Award, from nearly 300 applications. With this team and the people we have joining us, we’ll be back, for sure.
Huge thanks to Peter Holbrook and SEUK. What a fantastic night!
